2012 has been an amazing year so far as we’ve forged greater links with the surrounding community by reaching out in a really practical and much needed way through the Food Bank. We’ve also had the enormous privilege this year of working with LED, a local Christian band who specifically work with Schools and school children across the South-West. They use music to reach out to young people in way that the young people can relate to, which allows them to really communicate the gospel to people, who otherwise would never know what it’s all about.

LED went into the local secondary school for a whole week, running classes and working with the kids intensively. At the end of the week, they put on a gig at the school which was very well attended and received by the kids. It was a real blessing for us, working as stewards, to be able to see these young people reacting in a positive way to the message of the gospel.

We’ve just had the first of the follow up events run by LED at the MSEC, with the children invited to come to the Church for an evening of fun, pizza and music. The turn out was really good again and a great time was had be all. The great thing is that LED have agreed to work with us at the MSEC on a longer term basis and so will be hosting these events on a monthly basis. This is great news and will really help us as a church to reach out to the young people of Callington.

We have a variety of activities each week that interact with the community — both young and old. We come together for worship on a Sunday, home group Bible studies each week and other activities throughout the week. We are active in supporting both foreign and local missions.

The church is not affiliated to any denomination but upholds the evangelical tradition of Bible-based teaching, worship and prayer. It is also well-connected with the other churches in town and we are a part of many joint Christian activities.
